The pursuit of greatness

The Perry legacy is continued by the Mike Perry family. Mike and his son Clint, began raising Durocs as part of a 4-H project nearly 15 years ago. The Perry kids showed home-raised hogs at the county, state and national levels growing up. They learned lessons in work ethic, responsibility, financial management, and many other life lessons along the way.

Today Crista continues showing in the ring, while Mike takes care of the herd located in Liberal Missouri. Clint has taken an increased roll in the operation, making many of the genetic decisions, promoting the brand on social media and increasing the amount of show-pig sales that Perry Genetics has offered to the public in recent years. While we continue to enjoy the opportunity to show pigs as a family, we have begun to expand the operation to allow us to provide opportunities for other families across the country to participate in this truly rewarding experience.

While we take pride in offering high-quality show-pigs to our costumers, this is not our only product that we market. Mike, in particular, focuses on producing productive and functional boars and gilts that our commercial costumers have been enjoying for years. We also strive to stock the freezers of our customers and provide both a nutritious and delicious product. Food security has become an increasingly important part of life in the world we live in today and we take our small part in that effort very seriously.

Clint and his wife Jody and their new son Robert have moved the majority of the Duroc sows to Salisbury, Missouri where Clint has taken over the management responsibilities of the herd. They host multiple online show-pig sales each year, focusing on their Durocs and crossbreds. The future is bright and the crew here at Perry Genetics cannot wait to see what lies in store!
